Warm and gooey chocolate chip cream cheese dessert quesadillas are the perfect rich, indulgent way to end your day! Bonus: they require only four ingredients and they couldn’t be easier to make!
I can’t lie to you. These dessert quesadillas are dangerous. The biggest threat is that you probably always have the ingredients on hand to make them. We don’t buy any packaged desserts at my house, and we rarely have ice cream in the freezer. But chocolate chips, cream cheese, and tortillas? Yeah, we have those.
That’s why J whips these guys up for us at least once a week. They only take minutes to prepare, but the way the chocolate and cream cheese melt together inside the crunchy tortilla will make you want to savor every.single.bite.
Not only is J the primary dessert quesadilla-maker in our house, he’s also the genius behind this recipe. I don’t remember how they first came to be, and I don’t remember exactly when he made them for the first time, but I know they’ve been a staple in our lives since the early years of our marriage.
Did I mention how crazy easy these chocolate chip cream cheese dessert quesadillas are to make?
Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Dessert Quesadillas
Ingredients
- 2 flour tortillas
- 1/4 c. dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 oz. cream cheese
- 1 tbs. vegetable oil
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fold each tortilla in half to make a crease. Spread cream cheese over all of one side of each tortilla. Sprinkle chocolate chips over half of each cream-cheese-coated coated tortilla. Refold the tortilla to create a quesadilla.
- Place quesadillas in the hot oil. Cook for two to three minutes on each side, or until golden. Use a fork to pop any bubbles that form in the tortilla.
- When quesadillas are golden on each side, remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate. Pat each quesadilla with a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Serve hot.

Oh my gosh, these look amazing! And sooo dangerous. I’ll definitely have to give these a try since I’m slightly obsessed with quesadillas of any kind.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you 🙂
True story, my boyfriend made these with peanut butter instead of cream cheese a few weeks ago when he wanted to use up stuff in the cabinet!
I’ve been saying for years that my husband should try them that way! Especially when we run out of cream cheese. We’ll have to do it soon!
These look so good!

These look like the perfect simple dessert for all members of our family! You’re right, this could be dangerous because we usually DO have all these items on hand.
You’ve been warned! They’re entirely too easy to whip up when a chocolate craving hits.
