Main Street Made Easy Custom Disney Itinerary Review

August 17, 2017 by Abby

Whether you’re traveling with adults or kids, a big group or a small one, getting a Main Street Made Easy Custom Disney Itinerary is one of the best decisions you can make.

Whether you're traveling with adults or kids, a big group or a small one, getting a Main Street Made Easy Custom Disney Itinerary is one of the best decisions you can make.

Kayla of Main Street Made Easy was generous enough to give us a complimentary custom Disney itinerary; however, all the opinions expressed below are mine alone.

From the moment I found out I’d be taking a group of students to Anaheim for a school trip, I knew we had to visit Disneyland and California Adventure. After all, for those living outside California, Disney and Anaheim are practically synonymous. I had a few students who had never been to a Disney park, so I was thrilled that I’d be the one to introduce them to the magic.

When I began planning our trip, I did what anyone does when vacation planning: I crowd-sourced on Facebook. I asked for general Disneyland and California Adventure tips, but my friend Kayla from Main Street Made Easy offered to make us a custom itinerary. We only had about a day and a half total to visit the park, so I wasn’t sure Kayla could help us much, but I accepted anyway.

Can I just say that was the best. decision. ever.

Why You Need a Main Street Made Easy Custom Disney Itinerary

You’ll Get Insider Tips

I’ll be honest: I’ve been planning my family’s future Disney trip for a few years now. I’ve got a Pinterest board dedicated to tips and tricks and I’ve even read a couple books on the subject. I thought I could do a pretty job getting us around the park. I’m sure I would have, but I wouldn’t have done nearly as a good a job as Kayla did.

Whether you're traveling with adults or kids, a big group or a small one, getting a Main Street Made Easy Custom Disney Itinerary is one of the best decisions you can make.

In addition to an itinerary of which rides to do when, Kayla included all sorts of insider info about the best places to eat, where to rest, and how to snag prime parade and fireworks watching spots. You may think you’re prepared for your trip, but it’s likely Kayla has information you don’t.

Here’s an insider tip from me: before entering the park, take a photo of the ticket(s) for everyone in your party. Disney is great about replacing a lost ticket, but they need the serial number in order to do that. The fastest way to find the number of the missing ticket(s) is to have a photo.

My Completely Honest LipSense Review

March 16, 2017 by Abby

Is it just a fad, or is it the best thing to happen to beauty products since waterproof mascara? Read my unpaid, Completely Honest LipSense Review to find out.

Is it just a fad, or is it the best thing to happen to beauty products since waterproof mascara? Read my unpaid, Completely Honest LipSense Review to find out.

This may come as a shock to readers who know me in person because I am so not into makeup and beauty products. I don’t wear a whole lot of makeup, and I’ve especially never been into lipstick. So how does a former lip balm-addict feel about LipSense?

I’m glad you asked.

My Completely Honest LipSense Review

The Facts

LipSense is liquid lip color. It comes in a variety of shades and textures that are perfect for mixing, matching, and building your own custom colors. LipSense lasts between four and 18 hours (that number is much closer to 18+, in my experience) and restores moisture to your lips.

One thing I love about LipSense is that it naturally shields lips from the sun. Because it’s a non-wax liquid that protects the skin of your lips from exposure to elements, LipSense actually makes your lips softer with use.

When you’re first getting started with LipSense, you need to buy three products: a lip color, a gloss, and a remover. To apply the product, you put on three layers of color and finish with a layer of gloss.

Is it just a fad, or is it the best thing to happen to beauty products since waterproof mascara? Read my unpaid, Completely Honest LipSense Review to find out.

The Good

Um, I actually wear it?

I never wore lipstick much for two reasons: my lips were always too chapped for it to look right and I didn’t have time to reapply several times throughout the day. LipSense solved both of those problems.

The product has healed my formerly-chapped lips. Part of that is some special secret of the LipSense formula, and part is because I make sure to apply Glossy Gloss when I’m not wearing a color.

My Completely Honest Graze Snack Box Review

February 10, 2016 by Abby

Have you been thinking of joining a snack subscription service? Before you do, be sure to read my completely honest Graze snack box review.

Have you been thinking of joining a snack subscription service? Before you do, be sure to read my completely honest Graze snack box review.

I’ve been receiving Graze snack boxes for several months now. Honestly, I still get so excited when I see the package in our mailbox because it combines two of my favorite things: food and mail.

I first signed up for Graze on a whim, without doing much research. That’s very unlike me; I usually comparison shop and read reviews before committing to something like this. Nevertheless, I jumped right in and I’ve ended up enjoying most every snack I’ve received.

Since I do appreciate research before making a purchasing decision, and because I have both positive and negative things to say about Graze, I decided to write an honest review of the service.

If you stick around to read this whole thing and decide Graze is something you want to try, I have a link at the bottom that’ll get you your first box for free.

My Completely Honest Graze Snack Box Review

The Facts

Graze, sort of like Rocksbox, is a subscription snack service. For $6.99, Graze will deliver a box of four single-serving snacks right to your mailbox; you can get eight snacks for $11.99. You can choose the delivery frequency that works for you: once a week, once every two weeks, or once every four weeks.

Have you been thinking of joining a snack subscription service? Before you do, be sure to read my completely honest Graze snack box review.

Graze has nearly 100 snack options, and they all offer some sort of health benefit: low calorie, high protein, low sodium, etc. Snacks include nuts and seeds, dried fruit, crackers, dips and dippers, and more.

The Good

I love that Graze gives me snacks that I would never try on my own. Heck, I’m not even sure I could purchase many of their ingredients locally. The snack options push me outside what I would normally consider my snacking comfort zone, but more often than not, I love what I get.

I also appreciate the pre-portioned aspect of Graze boxes. The snacks come in single-serve containers, so there’s no question how much you should be eating. Sure, I often want twice as much as what I’m given, but it’s nice to know how much I really need to have.

A few of the snacks I’ve tried and loved: roasted chili honey peanuts and almonds, kettlecorn kern pops, cinnamon pretzel, twist of black pepper popcorn, herby bread basket, zesty chili lime cashews.

The Bad

My two chief complaints about Graze are the price and the fact that you can’t choose your own snacks.

I get a delivery every four weeks; I’d get one more often, but $12 for eight snacks is so high ($1.50 a snack). I justify my subscription in two ways: 1. It really isn’t that much more money that what I’d pay if I ran to the vending machine in the teacher’s lounge and 2. the snacks are healthier than anything I’d buy at school, and I realize that healthy snack foods are often more expensive than junk.

Graze shows you a list of every snack they offer and gives you the opportunity to rate them. You can choose “trash” if you either don’t want the snack or received it and don’t want it again. Select “try” for any snacks you’d like to receive, and choose “like” or “love” when you enjoy something.

My Completely Honest Rocksbox Review

October 30, 2015 by Abby

Have you heard of Rocksbox? Have you considered trying this jewelry rental service? I had no idea what to expect when I signed up, so in an effort to answer the questions others might have, I’m sharing my completely honest Rocksbox review.

Have you heard of Rocksbox? Have you considered trying this jewelry rental service? I had no idea what to expect when I signed up, so in an effort to answer the questions others might have, I'm sharing my completely honest Rocksbox review.

First things first. Let’s cover the basics:

What is Rocksbox?

Rocksbox is like subscription box meets jewelry rental service. For a flat monthly fee, they’ll send you three pieces of jewelry that you can keep and wear for as long as you’d like, purchase to have forever, or return in exchange for three more pieces. You curate a wish list using your Rocksbox account, which means the stylist who chooses your pieces gets to see what kind of jewelry you’re into. In addition, each box will contain at least one piece from your wish list.

How much does it cost?

Rocksbox is $19 a month. That $19 gets you three pieces of jewelry to rent for as long as you’d like, plus you get $10 of “shine spend” every month, which is just $10 toward the purchase of any of the pieces in your box. The pieces themselves range from $25-$70 on average.

You never pay for shipping, either. The box ships to you for free, and you keep the mailer it comes in, slap on the accompanying prepaid label, and mail the whole thing back when you’re done.

The Background

Those who know me might be thinking I’m the least likely person to try a jewelry rental service. I wear jewelry in some form every day, and I enjoy growing my collection with pieces I love, but I’ve never been obsessed with having the latest and greatest designer jewelry.

I never considered signing up for the service because designer jewelry isn’t important to me and because I don’t mind wearing the same several necklaces and the same several pairs of earrings. I figured Rocksbox would be great for those who want to be able to wear “new” jewelry all the time without forking out a ton of cash to make it happen.

But then an invitation to join landed in my inbox. I began to think a little harder about signing up. Finally, I decided to give it a shot. I realized Rocksbox might not just be for women who enjoy being on the cutting edge of jewelry. It might just as much be for people like me, who don’t want to wear outdated pieces, but who also don’t have the time, the money, or the know-how to keep their collections up-to-date. So I signed up.

I got right to work adding items to my wish list. I was actually a little surprised by how excited I was for my first box to arrive. I was nervous, too; what if I hated every piece? Because of all the questions I had, and because of how hesitant I was to try it, I decided to share my experience here.

My Completely Honest Rocksbox Review

So far, I’ve received three Rocksboxes. I don’t have photos of the first because I didn’t know I’d be sharing my thoughts here. I do have photos of my next two boxes, though, so let’s jump in. Here’s everything- plus way more than- you ever wanted to know about Rocksbox:
